Jennifer, have you checked out Siskin Children's Institute for early intervention? 648-1700. Your son's disability entitles him to services regardless where you live. Check out the autism center to at 622-0500 in Chattanooga. They meet on Thursdays at nooon at 1000 East 3rd Street on the first floor. They can help you with your rights and services that must be provided. The sooner he gets help the better off he will be in the future. Please call both of these places right away to get help. Please stay in touch with us, too.

All the best to you and your son.

HI Linda, I will email you a more detailed letter this afternoon. Is your daughter in a full-time special ed class now or is she mainstreamed some with other kids? We have a local Autism group in Chattanooga. They help many families with services, rights, camps, playgroups and special events. If you are in the area, they are across the street from Erlanger hospital at 1000 East 3rd Street suite 100. Phone is 622-0500, I believe. Team Centers which is a special needs medical center runs it and this is their number. Just tell them you are inquiring about the autism center. The Chattanooga Autism Center is free and run by Team plus parents. We meet every Thursday at noon. It is for all ages.

Be in touch soon.

Hi Beckie, Please contact the Chattanooga Autism Center at 1100 East 3rd Street or call Team Centers. This is a free and a volunteer group with many different sources and playgroups for kids with autism. My son cannot speak and is 13, but there are kids that do speak. The autism center knows of camps, karate, riding, etc... for your child.

Good luck to you. I am there sometimes. Will be more frequent when school resumes.
